![]() In this book, John Mulhern III writes about traveling a total of 7,694 miles in 18 days-a route through eighteen widely (and wildly) different states including not only stops in the the cities of Chicago, Santa Fe, Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Seattle, but also nights in the small towns of Claremore, Point Arena, and Murdo. The essential pocket Corvette reference, . I list a few of them below, most either travel or Corvette-related. On this and the Stingray, they just can’t seem to put together a fully coherent package…I like the body color side vent (on this Z06 and the Stingray), but don’t like the body color bits on the front and back…either way, if you opt for the carbon fiber trim, then you still end up with a mix of non-matching carbon and carbon flash paint on the rear lower trim, which doesn’t look great. Makes me wonder if GM is just playing with all of us…putting stuff like this out there just to change the subject from when pricing will come out and ordering will open up… Subscribe to GM Authority for more mid-engine Corvette news, Corvette C8 news, Corvette news, Chevy news, and around-the-clock GM news coverage. Pricing is expected to be announced in the near future. The 2023 Corvette Z06 will be offered in both Coupe and Convertible body styles. Outside, the new Z06 is easily identifiable thanks to its widebody stance and revised aerodynamics, the latter of which can be upgraded further with the Z07 Performance Package. Highlights of the 2023 Corvette Z06 include an all-new naturally aspirated 5.5L V8 LT6 gasoline engine, rated at 670 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque, which boasts an impressive 8,600-rpm redline and an exotic-sounding exhaust note. Production of the 2023 Corvette Stingray began at the GM Bowling Green plant in Kentucky late last month, but this start date did not apply to the high-performance Z06. Other noteworthy options and extras include Carbon Flash-painted outside mirrors, a Carbon Flash Metallic-painted carbon fiber ground effects kit and a visible carbon fiber removable roof panel. While it’s not equipped with the Z07 Performance Package, it does feature the Z07’s available painted carbon fiber wheels. There’s some other interesting parts about this vehicle, too. As we reported previously, Corvette Z06 models destined for certain foreign markets will feature this exhaust setup for emissions reasons. The outboard-mounted exhausts on this prototype are also somewhat noteworthy. Either way, these parts make for a unique-looking Corvette Z06 that will not be possible for customers to order for the time being. It seems possible GM will add these parts to the Z06 order book for the 2024 model year or sometime thereafter, however, which may be why the automaker has gone ahead and stuck them on a pre-production model. While the body-color side vent trim, front grille insert and rear grille accents are available to order on the standard Corvette C8 Stingray, they will not be offered on the production 2023 Corvette Z06. We’re a bit confused by the presence of these components on this development vehicle. These include a body-color front fascia insert, side intake vent trim and rear grille accents. This car is a 2023 Corvette Z06 Coupe finished in the Amplify Orange Tintcoat exterior color, which wouldn’t be very noteworthy if it weren’t also equipped with never-before-seen body-colour painted exterior trim pieces. GM Authority spies have captured an interesting series of photos showing a unique 2023 Corvette Z06 development vehicle equipped with various body-color painted exterior trim pieces.
